Who owns Czech breweries today?

Czech beer has long ceased to mean Czech ownership. Pilsner Urquell, Kozel, Gambrinus and Radegast now belong to Japan’s Asahi. Staropramen and Braník belong to the American group Molson Coors. Krušovice and Starobrno are owned by the Dutch group Heineken. Budvar remains state-owned and Svijany is owned by Czech investors. Hopefully the taste has stayed the same, even if the dividends naturally flow abroad. If we want Czech work and tradition to enrich the Czech economy, we need to pay more attention to who actually owns our companies.
